North Charleston to Break Ground on New Wye Lane Community Center and Playground   North Charleston, SC – Mayor Reginald L. Burgess and the North Charleston City Council will host a ceremonial groundbreaking for the new Wye Lane Community Center and Playground on Friday, May 23 at 10:00 AM in the Dorchester Terrace neighborhood.    Located on Wye Lane in Dorchester Terrace, the new community center will replace the aging Jeanene Batten facility, providing a new facility for neighborhood engagement.    This center is more than bricks and mortar, it’s a promise to the people of North Charleston,” stated Mayor Burgess. “It represents our commitment to investing in strong, connected neighborhoods where every resident has access to opportunity, support, and a sense of belonging.”   The Wye Lane Community Center will feature flexible meeting spaces, program areas for youth and seniors, and amenities that reflect the City’s commitment to providing high-quality, accessible public services.
