MLK Jr. Commemorative Concert

Lowcountry Voices (LCV), a multicultural and ethnically diverse choral performing arts organization, returns for their 12 th annual MLK Jr. holiday concert in North Charleston. The group will perform under the musical direction of Nathan L. Nelson and will be joined by ensembles from the Charleston Southern University’s Horton School of Music. This year’s theme, Chains , explores the concept of bonds that unite us - chains of love, peace, brotherhood, and sisterhood - while honoring Dr. King’s enduring legacy. Through music, the concert will reflect on his message of unity, hope, and justice, reminding us of the strength found in connection and community. The program features a dynamic blend of traditional gospel, spirituals, and contemporary compositions. Audiences can expect soul-stirring solo performances, inspiring choral arrangements, and moving ensemble numbers that celebrate Dr. King’s vision for a world united by equality and love.
