About This Event

North Charleston's Juneteenth Freedom Fest commemorates the end of slavery in the United States with a day of celebration, education, and community at Riverfront Park. The event features gospel choirs, jazz and R&B performances, spoken word artists, and a keynote address exploring the significance of Juneteenth.

The celebration includes a soul food cook-off, an African marketplace with vendors selling art, clothing, and crafts, a health and wellness fair, and a children's village with storytelling and activities. The day concludes with a lantern release over the Cooper River at sunset.

Free and open to all.
